A recent settlement between Chargers offensive lineman Ben Cleveland and Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland

The fluorescent lights of the Georgia courthouse always seemed to hum with a certain sterile finality, a stark contrast to the roar of the stadium Ben Cleveland was used to. For the 27-year-old NFL star, the legal battle following his February divorce filing had become a grueling season of its own—one played out in court records and deposition rooms rather than on the gridiron. After a year of contention, the final whistle has finally blown on his marriage to Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland.

According to court records obtained by The California Post, the settlement marks the end of a turbulent chapter that began amidst a storm of personal struggle. The initial filing last year came just days after Ben's arrest for DUI, a moment of public vulnerability that was quickly followed by private accusations. Ben had initially alleged adultery as the core reason for the separation, a claim Kaitlyn strongly and consistently denied in subsequent filings. Now, both parties have moved past the accusations, agreeing to a strict non-disparagement clause that ensures their private grievances remain behind closed doors.

The cost of this peace is significant. Ben has agreed to pay Kaitlyn a lump sum of $550,000 to finalize the split. Beyond the cash payment, the financial disentanglement includes Ben paying off a 2024 Land Rover, which will remain in Kaitlyn's possession. In exchange for the payout, Kaitlyn has agreed to relinquish her rights to various real estate holdings the couple once shared, allowing Ben to retain possession of two specific properties in Georgia.

The division of their lives even reached down to the smallest domestic details. The settlement outlines a specific distribution of personal property that paints a picture of a life being meticulously unstitched. Ben has officially given up his rights to the couple's golf cart, as well as more intimate household items like rugs, pillows, and kitchen dishes. Conversely, the agreement requires Kaitlyn to return a gun and a thermal scope to the NFL player.

With the paperwork filed in late January, the contentious legal battle that spanned over a year has reached its conclusion. For Ben Cleveland, the settlement offers a chance to move forward from a period marked by legal scrutiny and personal upheaval, finally closing the book on his marriage to Kaitlyn.
